If you’ve never explored or considered dead internet theory, one stop you might want to make on that journey of discovery is the new album from Swedish metal act Self Deception called ONE OF US.
You see, I found out that lead vocalist Andreas Clark was a fellow dystopia nerd, and that point I couldn’t wait to explore allllll the theories with him.
ONE OF US might not explicitly discuss dead internet theory, but so far the vibe does call a listener to explore their mental health and their anger (sometimes…anger at the internet).
This album is a desire to belong in a world that seems increasingly divisive.
How do we make sure voices are included? We write about them. Sometimes, we even engage on social media – and that alone looks a lot different for bands than it did twenty years ago.
