Val Kleinhans Tackles the ‘Let Them’ Theory

You’ve heard the phrase “let them” before, right? Let’s analyze it for a second.

The “let them” theory is one that simply chooses acceptance. It allows us to stay emotionally and mentally healthy because we’ve accepted that external forces and actions by others are simply inevitable. It’s more important to worry about our own actions than those of others.

This is my take on it:

Now let’s address the controversial issue of where this whole idea originated.

I learned of the idea behind “let them” from motivational speaker, podcaster, and author Mel Robbins. A lot of us have. She’s blown up recently. What I didn’t know before doing this episode is that it’s been alleged that the “let them” theory came from someone else and Mel used it without crediting them. That “someone” is poet Cassie Phillips.

Of course, I’m not Mel, so I can’t confirm or deny any copyright claim or stolen material, but I do want to acknowledge what’s in question and put some respek on Cassie’s name as well.

People will do what they do. Let them.

Hope you enjoyed this episode!
