How To Do Holiday Looks When Red And Green Aren’t Your Thing

Fun fact: I’m not super into red or green… at least not in the traditional Christmas-y way we’re “supposed” to be.

You know your girl. I don’t have time for trends or seasonal things that you’re expected to buy just to “fit in” and do what “everyone else” is doing. So, to solve that yearly “problem” that comes around, I decided to invest in some holiday pieces that I feel don’t suck. If you’re like me, and traditional red and green this time of year aren’t your thing, here are some tips to stand out and be you this holiday season.

Firstly, don’t be afraid to sparkle.

You can enjoy sequins this time of year – and not on ugly sweaters. They can be chic and black too. Take a look at this romper I snagged from Shein. Pair it with tights and you’re good to go!

I have a huge bias here, but investing in blacks and neutrals with sequins can seriously get through holiday parties for years to come – and because of the color, they’re not exclusively seasonal at that point.

Take a look at this neutral example using a neutral sequin blazer.

Sequins aren’t the only thing that can add a fun sparkly yet special moment to the season. Velvet does a great job of being a holiday ready fabric too. Find a velvet dress you love for your next party!

Don’t ever let someone tell you that you’re doing holiday fashion “wrong” ever. It’s just one season, and it always passes.
