9 Songs To Welcome Spring With

It might not quite feel like it in Minnesota just yet, but it’s coming! Spring (calendar-wise anyway) is here.

If you’re in the mood to get outdoors again, have a barbecue, or just want to drive with your windows down and music blaring again, I’ve got the soundtrack you’ll need to welcome this new season with.

Take a look!

  1. “Spring MCMLXXIV” – Opeth: This song refers to the time of year Opeth singer Mikael Åkerfeldt was born (his birthday is April 17th). The Roman numerals you see here represent the year he was born, 1974.

2. “Green Man” – Type O Negative: It’s Peter’s nickname and it represents a rebirth in Peter’s personal life as he left his old job as a NYC Parks & Rec employee to being touring.

3. “Spring Again” – Biz Markie: This one is self explanatory.

4. “Here Comes The Sun” – The Beatles: What a great way to welcome more daylight coming back to us!

5. “Wildside” – Mötley Crüe: There simply is no better song to roll down the car windows and drive a little faster to.

6. “In Bloom” – Nirvana: This is another self explanatory one.

7. “Guardians Of Asgaard” – Amon Amarth: This is for the viking in you decides you’re ready to battle again this spring.

8. “Come This Spring” – Amorphis: This one mentions rebirth and being rejuvenated, which is fitting.

9. “Somewhere On A Beach” – Dierks Bentley: For when you take that beach (or lake) centered spring vacation.

What did you think about this list? What’s on your spring soundtrack?
