This whole thing is going to come off as one giant Target ad, but it’s the truth.
I must’ve made a subconscious resolution to myself back in January that 2021 would be the year I grow my hair and have some patience with it. I finally began embracing its natural color and texture. I should disclose that I have wonderful hair genetics thanks to my mom and dad, but I royally ruined it during a blonde balayage moment I wanted to try out in 2018.
Since then, I’ve been obsessed with Kim K’s long straight black locks, and her former assistant Steph Sheperd’s. They are my hair goals right now. Seeing them embrace their natural hair color and texture reminded me to embrace my own, and all I had to do to get their look was grow mine! Ta-da!
Here’s how I’m doing it:
- I’m using this helpful vitamin boost from Target. I’d estimate I’ve seen almost three inches of growth since using it daily from August to current day. Fullness and volume is there too!

- I took notes from Jonathan Van Ness and invested in a paddle brush and round brush to give myself blowouts almost daily. This stimulates the folicles and increases hair growth
I promise you, the combination of these has been doing wonders for my hair since I started seriously following these routines in August – and it’s all natural. If you’re trying to improve your own hair situation, try it!
