3 Things You Can Do To ‘Heal’ In A Crazy 2020

We can all admit that this year has indeed royally sucked so far, for many reasons.

I’m not here to dwell on that, boo boo. Why? A whole entire outpatient psychiatric program that assisted me in treatment for depression and anxiety taught me that to dwell on things like this was simply fruitless.

So, I won’t waste your time moaning about how hard things are. We get enough of that on Facebook. What I want to focus on is how we can heal during a time when we so desperately need it.

You’re probably asking yourself how we do this. I’ve spent the last few months asking myself this. I gave my own answers, and shared them with you in this week’s edition of Very Vogue with Val Kleinhans. Did you hear it? Check it out below if you haven’t!

In summary, I think there are three key things we need to focus on when it comes to healing our personal traumas and tragedies.

We’ve got to focus on knowing our rights when it comes to combating racism, and general wrong-doers in life. You also don’t heal without having the hard conversations that are necessary when it comes to confronting such biases and horrendous behavior. Do be sure, however, to give someone a break if the conversation gets a little too heated. I think that would contradict the effort to heal, in that instance.

Lastly, we need to be able to seek a variety of therapies (and be patient enough with the process that is immersing ourselves in them) in order to figure out what works for us.

That, my friends, should surely put you on the right track to heal.

For Minnesotans, the sources I mentioned in this episode can be found here.
