You’ve heard of Humans Of New York, right? In the spirit of nurturing community, Rochester, Minnesota now has its own brand of delightful stories to be shared.
I met Rochester resident Madison Nelson in January of this year, before the pandemic hit us as a nation. She told me that she was working on a project called “People Of Rochester”, found me on Instagram, and wanted me to share my story (of how I ended up in Rochester and what I’ve been doing while I’ve been here) and be part of it.
The concept is a lot like Humans Of New York. Madison wanted to share stories from people in her own city. Of course, I support that! So, we met, and talked, and Madison went on to share my story on People Of Rochester’s Instagram page.
Now, she’s expanding her quest for knowledge and community togetherness with a podcast version of People Of Rochester. She’s got Bucky Beeman (who is fast becoming a Tik Tok legend in his own right) in on this too! Check out my episode from a few weeks ago!
Fun fact: If you watch that video on silent, you can pretend that I’m practicing my air traffic directing skills thanks to my use of hands! HA!
A lot of you are familiar with what I discuss here already, but I do want to shout out People Of Rochester and encourage you to keep an eye on what they’re doing. I know there’s more to come!
They really do love fostering a Rochester community.
