You’re not prepared for how much excitement was involved here.
I’ve mentioned before that I am just absolutely obsessed with 90s fashion. To me, it was comfortable, classy, inspiring, and completely original – with a hint of the ability to “be a kid” in a world that was changing pretty fast (see “butterfly clips” for an example of what I’m talking about here), it was the best!
Perhaps one of the most iconic parts of fashion from the 90s was Dr. Martens boots. It seemed like everyone had to have them. Most of us did! Well, except for me that is…
While I love the way these boots look, I didn’t get to enjoy them in the early 90s like the rest of the world did. I was only born in 1990, so it’d be a few years before I recognized their amazingness or could afford them.
Now, in 2020, I’m finally able to afford them. The following is documentation of my excitement upon their arrival.
May whatever pair of shoes you’re wearing help you feel like a badass!
Fair warning for these babies though; they HURT. It’s going to take some time to break them in. I’ve got the blisters to prove this. Don’t give up on them though. I’ve heard they last forever and become “second skin” after wearing them for a while.
Do you wear things that empower you?
